The ones who had been sent were from the Perushim.
And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
The messengers had been sent from the Pharisees.
And they had been sent from the Pharisees.
Those sent by the Pharisees
And some of those who had been sent were from among the Pharisees.
And they that were sent, were of the Pharisees.
You blind Parush, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside of it may become clean also.
As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Perushim began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him;
The Perushim, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.
But the Perushim and the Torah scholars rejected the counsel of God, not being immersed by him themselves.
He said, *I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way of the Lord,' as Yeshaiyahu the prophet said.*
They asked him, *Why then do you immerse, if you are not the Messiah, nor Eliyahu, nor the Prophet?*
For the Tzedukim say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but the Perushim confess all of these.
having known me from the first, if they are willing to testify, that after the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Parush.
