Now this is the history of the generations of Terach. Terach became the father of Avram, Nachor, and Charan. Charan became the father of Lot.


Terach took Avram his son, Lot the son of Charan, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Avram's wife. They went forth from Ur of the Kasdim, to go into the land of Kena`an. They came to Charan and lived there.


Avram took Sarai his wife, Lot his brother's son, all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls whom they had gotten in Charan, and they went forth to go into the land of Kena`an. Into the land of Kena`an they came.


They took all the goods of Sedom and `Amorah, and all their food, and went their way.


When Avram heard that his relative was taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.


He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative, Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.


If the scourge kills suddenly, he will mock at the trial of the innocent.


He spoke to the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.


I heard another voice from heaven, saying, *Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don't receive of her plagues,


As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.
