Genesis 11:31 - Hebrew Names version (HNV)

31 Terach took Avram his son, Lot the son of Charan, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Avram's wife. They went forth from Ur of the Kasdim, to go into the land of Kena`an. They came to Charan and lived there.

The border of the Kena`anim was from Tzidon, as you go toward Gerar, to `Aza; as you go toward Sedom, `Amorah, Admah, and Tzevoyim, to Lasha.


The days of Terach were two hundred five years. Terach died in Charan.


So Avram went, as the LORD had spoken to him. Lot went with him. Avram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Charan.


Avram took Sarai his wife, Lot his brother's son, all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls whom they had gotten in Charan, and they went forth to go into the land of Kena`an. Into the land of Kena`an they came.


They took Lot, Avram's brother's son, who lived in Sedom, and his goods, and departed.


He said to him, *I am the LORD who brought you out of Ur of the Kasdim, to give you this land to inherit it.*


The servant took ten camels, of his master's camels, and departed, having a variety of good things of his master's with him. He arose, and went to Aram-Naharayim, to the city of Nachor.


It happened, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rivka came out, who was born to Betu'el the son of Milkah, the wife of Nachor, Avraham's brother, with her pitcher on her shoulder.


Now therefore, my son, obey my voice. Arise, flee to Lavan, my brother, in Charan.


Ya`akov went out from Be'er-Sheva, and went toward Charan.


Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, and Charan, and Retzef, and the children of `Eden that were in Telassar?


You are the LORD the God, who did choose Avram, and brought him forth out of Ur of the Kasdim, and gave him the name of Avraham,


While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, *The Kasdim made three bands, and swept down on the camels, and have taken them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you.*


Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Charan, Retzef, and the children of `Eden who were in Telassar?


By faith, Avraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went.
