Yisra'el vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.


after he had struck Sichon the king of the Amori, who lived in Cheshbon, and `Og the king of Bashan, who lived in `Ashtarot, at Edre`i.


Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon: behold, I have given into your hand Sichon the Amori, king of Cheshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.


We took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones; we left none remaining:


You have not eaten bread, neither have you drunk wine or strong drink; that you may know that I am the LORD your God.


The LORD said to me, Don't fear him; for I have delivered him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Sichon king of the Amori, who lived at Cheshbon.


All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many.


All the spoil of these cities, and the livestock, the children of Yisra'el took for a prey to themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any who breathed.
