It was so, when the days of their feasting had run their course, that Iyov sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Iyov said, *It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts.* Thus did Iyov continually.


When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid. They retreat before his thrashing.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,


Moshe went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.


*This is the law of the Nazir: when the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall be brought to the door of the Tent of Meeting,


The Nazir shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it on the fire which is under the sacrifice of shalom offerings.


*All the days of his vow of separation there shall no razor come on his head, until the days are fulfilled, in which he separates himself to the LORD. He shall be holy. He shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow long.


*If any man dies very suddenly beside him, and he defiles the head of his separation; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing. On the seventh day he shall shave it.


Now the Jewish Pesach was at hand. Many went up from the country to Yerushalayim before the Pesach, to purify themselves.


There arose therefore a questioning on the part of Yochanan's talmidim with some Judeans about purification.


Sha'ul, having stayed after this many more days, took his leave of the brothers, and sailed from there for Syria, together with Priscilla and Aquila. He shaved his head in Cenchreae, for he had a vow.
