David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Yisra'el, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Yisra'el's sake.
He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.
Now these were the sons of David, who were born to him in Chevron: the firstborn, Amnon, of Achino'am the Yizre`elite; the second, Daniyel, of Avigayil the Karmelite;
All these were the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines; and Tamar was their sister.
But Aviyah grew mighty, and took to himself fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons, and sixteen daughters.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
David also took Achino'am of Yizre`el; and they became both of them his wives.
