Natan departed to his house. The LORD struck the child that Uriyah's wife bore to David, and it was very sick.


Also I said, The thing that you do is not good: ought you not to walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?


Don't let those who wait for you be shamed through me, Lord GOD of Armies. Don't let those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, God of Yisra'el.


How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?


Blessed is the man whom you discipline, the LORD, and teach out of your law;


You answered them, LORD our God. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.


Now therefore, what do I here, says the LORD, seeing that my people is taken away for nothing? those who rule over them do howl, says the LORD, and my name continually all the day is blasphemed.
