It was so, when Achiyah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, you wife of Yarov`am; why feign you yourself to be another? for I am sent to you with heavy news.


The king said to him, How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?


Then said Yeshaiyahu to Chizkiyahu, *Hear the word of the LORD of Armies:


Then Yirmeyahu the prophet spoke all these words to Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah in Yerushalayim,


Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before the LORD concerning all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.


Sha'ul said, They have brought them from the `Amaleki: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.


Shemu'el said, *Though you were little in your own sight, weren't you made the head of the tribes of Yisra'el? the LORD anointed you king over Yisra'el;


As they were going down at the end of the city, Shemu'el said to Sha'ul, Bid the servant pass on before us (and he passed on), but stand you still first, that I may cause you to hear the word of God.
