So Ach'av went up to eat and to drink. Eliyahu went up to the top of Karmel; and he bowed himself down on the earth, and put his face between his knees.


Then all the men of Yehudah and Binyamin gathered themselves together to Yerushalayim within the three days; it was the ninth month, on the twentieth [day] of the month: and all the people sat in the broad place before the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.


Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.


Moshe and Aharon were among his Kohanim, Shemu'el among those who call on his name; they called on the LORD, and he answered them.


Yisra'el saw the great work which the LORD did to the Egyptians, and the people feared the LORD; and they believed in the LORD, and in his servant Moshe.


Then spoke Yehoshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amori before the children of Yisra'el; and he said in the sight of Yisra'el, Sun, stand you still on Giv`on; You, Moon, in the valley of Ayalon.


On that day the LORD magnified Yehoshua in the sight of all Yisra'el; and they feared him, as they feared Moshe, all the days of his life.
