And great crowds gathered about him, so that he got into a boat and sat down. And the whole crowd stood on the beach.


Jesus went on from there and walked beside the Sea of Galilee. And he went up on the mountain and sat down there.


And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.


And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:


And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him.


Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat.


Again he began to teach beside the sea. And a very large crowd gathered about him, so that he got into a boat and sat in it on the sea, and the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land.


In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.


And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon,


And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.


Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray.


Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself.
