and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,
and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
And whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave–
and whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant:
Whoever wants to be first among you will be your slave—
And whoever will want to be first among you, he shall be your servant,
And he that will be first among you, shall be your servant.
Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,
even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.
I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish.
Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles.
I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?
For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.
