Then he said, “I have something to say to you.” She said, “Speak.”


And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain.


“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say, ‘How have we despised your name?’


And he came up to Jesus at once and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him.


On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’


And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”


When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts?


And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.


But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come and stand here.” And he rose and stood there.


Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.”


“A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.


You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.


Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’?


Now we know that you know all things and do not need anyone to question you; this is why we believe that you came from God.”


This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”
