And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, “Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.”


Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said, “Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”


Where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, ‘The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land’?


the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?


Oh that I had in the desert a travelers’ lodging place, that I might leave my people and go away from them! For they are all adulterers, a company of treacherous men.


You have plowed iniquity; you have reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your own way and in the multitude of your warriors,


Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit, but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.


there is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.


Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was determined to go after filth.


On the day of our king, the princes became sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with mockers.

Their hands are on what is evil, to do it well; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.


Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.


They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them.
