Thus Absalom did to all of Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.


And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them, as everything that the king did pleased all the people.


O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;


Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.


And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”


Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said, “Let him be crucified!”


And his mother’s relatives spoke all these words on his behalf in the ears of all the leaders of Shechem, and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, “He is our brother.”
