But Hadad fled to Egypt, together with certain Edomites of his father’s servants, Hadad still being a little child.


He built the structure against the whole house, five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar.


The entrance for the lowest story was on the south side of the house, and one went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third.


Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign.


And he remained with her six years, hidden in the house of the Lord, while Athaliah reigned over the land.


In the seventh year of Jehu, Jehoash began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.


In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, when Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, began to reign.


Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of David his servant, since he promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.

Thus Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram and wife of Jehoiada the priest, because she was a sister of Ahaziah, hid him from Athaliah, so that she did not put him to death.
