Zechariah 13:5 - Easy To Read Version

Those people will say, ‘I am not a prophet. I am a farmer. I have worked as a farmer since I was a little child.’

but he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.

But he will [deny his identity and] say, I am no prophet. I am a tiller of the ground, for I have been made a bond servant from my youth.

but he shall say, I am no prophet, I am a tiller of the ground; for I have been made a bondman from my youth.

Each will say, “I’m not a prophet. I’m a man who works the ground, for the soil has been my occupation since I was young.”

But he will say, "I am not a prophet; I am a man of agriculture. For Adam has been my example from my youth."

But he shall say: I am no prophet, I am a husbandman: for Adam is my example from my youth.

Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I am not a professional prophet. And I am not from a prophet’s family. I keep cattle and take care of sycamore trees.

But other people will say, ‘But what are these wounds in your hands?’ He will say, ‘I was beaten in the house of my friends.’”
