She married when she was young—but she left her husband. She forgot the marriage vows she made before God.


You ask, “Why are our gifts not accepted by the Lord?” Why? Because the Lord saw the bad things you did—he is a witness {\cf2\super [14]} against you. He saw you cheat on your wife. You have been married to that woman since you were young. She was your girlfriend. Then you made your vows {\cf2\super [15]} to each other—and she became your wife. \{But you cheated on her\}.


The Lord God of Israel says, “I hate divorce. And I hate the cruel things that men do. So protect your spiritual unity. Don’t cheat on your wife.”


And God said, ‘So a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife. And the two people will become one.’ {\cf2\super [260]}


The Pharisees {\cf2\super [261]} asked, “So why did Moses give a command allowing a man to divorce his wife by writing a certificate of divorce {\cf2\super [262]} ?”


God has joined those two people together. So no person should separate them.”


\{I will give you an example:\}A woman must stay married to her husband as long as he is alive. But if her husband dies, then she is made free from the law of marriage.


And husbands should love their wives like that. They should love their wives like they love their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself.


Marriage should be honored by all people. And every marriage should be kept pure between only two people. God will judge guilty those people who do sexual sins and adultery. {\cf2\super [172]}
