Then Jesus said to all the people, “You came to get me with swords and clubs like I am a criminal. Every day I sat in the temple {\cf2\super [411]} area teaching. You did not arrest me there.


Joseph put Jesus’ body in a new tomb (grave) that Joseph had dug in a wall of rock. Then he closed the tomb by rolling a very large stone to cover the entrance. After he did these things, Joseph went away.


But all the people were listening closely to Jesus. They were very interested in the things Jesus said. So the leading priests, the teachers of the law, and the leaders did not know how they could kill Jesus.


The book of Isaiah the prophet {\cf2\super [71]} was given to him. Jesus opened the book and found the place where this is written:


Jesus began to speak to them. He said, “While you heard me reading these words just now, the words were coming true!”


Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon. {\cf2\super [86]} Jesus asked Simon to push off a little from the shore. Then Jesus sat down in the boat and taught the people on the shore.


Early in the morning Jesus went back to the temple {\cf2\super [128]} area. All the people came to Jesus. Jesus sat and taught the people.


On the Sabbath day {\cf2\super [336]} we went out the city gate to the river. At the river we thought we might find a special place for prayer. Some women had gathered there. So we sat down and talked with them.


When Peter saw this, he said to the people, “My Jewish brothers, why are you surprised at this? You are looking at us like it was our power that made this man walk. Do you think this was done because we are good?
