I saw a wicked person that was powerful.\par He was like a strong, healthy tree.\par


Many nations will make agreements with that cruel and hated ruler. But he will lie and trick them. He will gain much power. But only a few people will support him.


“The man dressed in linen {\cf2\super [136]} and standing over the water lifted his right and left hands toward heaven. And I heard him make a promise using the name of God who lives forever. He said, ‘It will be for three and one-half years. {\cf2\super [137]} The power of the holy people will be broken, and then all these things will finally come true.’


This special king will say things against God Most High. And that king will hurt and kill God’s special people. That king will try to change the times and laws that have already been set. God’s special people will be in that king’s power for 3 1/2 years. {\cf2\super [82]}


That little horn became very big. It grew until it reached the sky. The little horn even threw some of the stars to the ground. And it stepped all over those stars.


That little horn became very strong. And then it turned against the Ruler of the Stars (God). The little horn stopped the daily sacrifices that were offered to the Ruler (God). The place where people worshiped the Ruler was pulled down.


The little horn sinned and stopped the daily sacrifices. It threw goodness down to the ground. The little horn did these things and was very successful.


“When the end is near for those kingdoms, there will be a very bold and cruel king. This king will be very tricky. This will happen when there have become many, many sinful people.


The people have spilled the blood\par of your holy people {\cf2\super [118]} \par and your prophets. {\cf2\super [119]} \par Now you have given those people\par blood to drink.\par This is what they deserve.”\par


God made the ten horns want to do his purpose: They agreed to give the animal their power to rule. They will rule until the things God has said are completed.


I saw that the woman was drunk. She was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people. {\cf2\super [127]} She was drunk with the blood of those people who told about \{their faith in\} Jesus.


His judgments are true and right.\par Our God has punished the prostitute. {\cf2\super [144]} \par She is the one who made the earth evil\par with her sexual sin.\par God has punished the prostitute\par to pay her for the blood (death)\par of his servants.”\par
