Elijah saw very near him a cake baked over coals and a jar of water. Elijah ate and drank. Then he went back to sleep.
But Elijah was sent to none of those widows \{in Israel\}. Elijah was sent only to a widow in Zarephath, a town in Sidon.
We have this treasure \{from God\}. But we are only like clay jars that hold the treasure. This shows that this great power is from God, not from us.
Then the Lord said to Gideon, “I am going to help your men to defeat the people of Midian. But you have too many men for the job. I don’t want the people of Israel to forget me and brag that they saved themselves.
Then the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take the men down to the water, and I will test them for you there. If I say, ‘This man will go with you,’ he will go. But if I say, ‘That one will not go with you,’ then he will not go.”
