After some time, all the water was gone. There was none left to drink. So Hagar put her son under a bush.


Then the servant ran to her and said, “Please give me a little water to drink from your jar.”


The woman was going to get his water, and Elijah said, “Bring me a piece of bread too, please.”


A Samaritan {\cf2\super [59]} woman came to that well to get some water. Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink of water.”


I have done hard and tiring work, and many times I did not sleep. I have been hungry and thirsty. Many times I have been without food. I have been cold and without clothes.


They were killed with stones and they were cut in half. They were killed with swords. The only clothes some of these people had were sheep skins or goat skins. They were poor, persecuted, {\cf2\super [158]} and treated badly by other people.
