The old prophet had {tricked the man and} brought him back. He heard about what happened and he said, “That is the man of God [171] who did not obey the Lord’s command. So the Lord sent a lion to kill him. The Lord said that he would do this.”
The old prophet went and found the body lying on the road. The donkey and the lion were still standing near it. The lion had not eaten the body, and it did not hurt the donkey.
