But he that did not lie in wait for him, but God delivered him into his hands: I will appoint thee a place to which he must flee.


Say to the children of Israel: The soul that sinneth through ignorance, and doth any thing concerning any of the commandments of the Lord, which he commanded not to be done:


If a prince shall sin, and through ignorance do any one of the things that the law of the Lord forbiddeth,


As well for the children of Israel as for strangers and sojourners, that he may flee to them, who hath shed blood against his will.


And among the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, six shall be separated for refuge to fugitives, that he who hath shed blood may flee to them. And besides these there shall be other forty-two cities:


That any one might flee to them who should kill his neighbour unwillingly, and was not his enemy a day or two before: and that he might escape to some one of these cities:


Appoint cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you by the hand of Moses.
