Hesebon shall cry and Eleale: their voice is heard even to Jasa. For this shall the well-appointed men of Moab howl, his soul shall howl to itself.
And judgment is come upon the plain country: upon Helon and upon Jasa and upon Mephaath.
From the cry of Hesebon even to Eleale and to Jasa, they have uttered their voice: from Segor to Oronaim, as a heifer of three years old. The waters also of Nemrim shall be very bad.
And he would not grant that Israel should pass by his borders: but rather gathering an army, went forth to meet them in the desert, and came to Jasa, and fought against them.
So I sent messengers from the wilderness of Cademoth to Sehon the king of Hesebon with peaceable words, saying:
And Hesebon, and all their villages, which are in the plains. Dibon also, and Bamothbaal, and the town of Baalmaon:
But he also, despising the words of Israel, suffered him not to pass through his borders. But gathering an infinite multitude went out against him to Jasa, and made strong opposition.
