Be attentive to him and listen to him. Do not defy him, because he will not forgive your acts of rebellion, for my name is in him.


Just as I entered into judgement with your ancestors in the wilderness of the land of Egypt,  so I will enter into judgement with you. This is the declaration of the Lord God.


God is not a man, that he might lie, or a son of man, that he might change his mind. Does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfil?


For the Lord had said to them that they would all die in the wilderness. None of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.


These things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our instruction,  on whom the ends of the ages  , have come.


Nevertheless God was not pleased with most of them, since they were struck down in the wilderness.


So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.


For the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for forty years until all the nation’s men of war who came out of Egypt had died off because they did not obey the Lord.  So the Lord vowed never to let them see the land he had sworn to their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
