All the birds of the sky nested in its branches, and all the animals of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.


Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit was abundant, and on it was food for all. Wild animals found shelter under it, the birds of the sky  lived in its branches, and every creature was fed from it.


For who despises the day of small things?  These seven eyes of the Lord, which scan throughout the whole earth, will rejoice when they see the ceremonial stone  in Zerubbabel’s hand.’


And  he said, ‘With what can we compare the kingdom of God,   or what parable   can we use to describe it?


And when sown,   it comes up and grows taller than all the garden plants,   and produces large branches, so that the birds of the sky   can nest in its shade.’


He said, therefore, ‘What is the kingdom of God like,   and what can I compare it to?


In those days Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters   #– #the number of people who were together was about a hundred twenty #– #and said,


When they heard it, they glorified God and said, ‘You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all zealous  for the law.
