A king’s heart is like channelled water in the  Lord’s hand: He directs it wherever he chooses.


But this is not what he intends; this is not what he plans. It is his intent to destroy and to cut off many nations.


I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: my plan will take place, and I will do all my will.


Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.


saying, ‘Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?  For we saw his star at its rising  and have come to worship him.’


Above his head they put up the charge against him in writing: This Is Jesus, the King of the Jews.


So Pilate asked him, ‘Are you the king  of the Jews? ’ He answered him, ‘You say so.’


They  crucified two criminals  , with him, one on his right and one on his left.


Let the Messiah,  the King  of Israel,  come down now from the cross,  so that we may see and believe.’  Even those who were crucified with him taunted him.


Yet the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but he turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves  you.
