Birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.


He replied, ‘The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man;


‘You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty?   It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.


Some are like the word sown on the path.   When they hear, immediately Satan   comes and takes away the word   sown in them.


As a large crowd was gathering, and people were coming to Jesus from every town, he said in a parable,


Other seed fell on the rock; when it grew up, it withered away, since it lacked moisture.


For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away.
