Then Jesus was approached by Pharisees and scribes from Jerusalem, who asked,
Yet he went out and began to proclaim it widely and to spread the news, with the result that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly. But he was out in deserted places, and they came to him from everywhere.
they will pick up snakes; , if they should drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.’
The scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said, ‘He is possessed by Beelzebul,’ and, ‘He drives out demons by the ruler of the demons.’
Immediately Jesus realised that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and said, ‘Who touched my clothes? ’
The Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around him.
And the Pharisees and scribes were complaining, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.’
After three days, they found him in the temple sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
Then the scribes and the Pharisees began to think to themselves, ‘Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone? ’
But the Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, ‘Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? ’
The whole crowd was trying to touch him, because power was coming out from him and healing them all.

‘Someone did touch me,’ said Jesus. ‘I know that power has gone out from me.’
‘Are you a teacher of Israel and don’t know these things? ’ Jesus replied.
But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.’

But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law who was respected by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered the men to be taken outside for a little while.
