They cry out to their mothers, ‘Where is the grain and wine? ’ as they faint like the wounded in the streets of the city, as their life pours out in the arms of their mothers.
I will strengthen the arms of Babylon’s king and place my sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him as a mortally wounded man.
A priest happened to be going down that road. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Then he took the Twelve aside and told them, ‘See, we are going up to Jerusalem. Everything that is written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.
When he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
