Yet the Lord was pleased  to crush him severely.  , When  you make him a guilt offering, he will see his seed, he will prolong his days, and by his hand the Lord’s pleasure will be accomplished.


You are to give a bull from the herd  as a sin offering  to the Levitical priests who are from the offspring of Zadok,  who approach me in order to serve me.’  This is the declaration of the Lord God.


‘You are to take some of its blood and apply it to the four horns  of the altar, the four corners of the ledge, and all round the rim. In this way you will purify the altar and make atonement for it.


On the day he goes into the sanctuary, into the inner court  to minister in the sanctuary, he is to present his sin offering.’ This is the declaration of the Lord God.


He is to lay his hand on  the head of the burnt offering so it can be accepted  on his behalf to make atonement for him.


Aaron will lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess  over it all the Israelites’ iniquities  and rebellious acts #– #all their sins.  He is to put them on the goat’s head and send it away into the wilderness  by the man appointed for the task.


‘Aaron will present the bull for his sin offering and make atonement for himself and his household.


The elders  of the community are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the Lord and it is to be slaughtered before the Lord.


‘Take Aaron, his sons with him, the garments, the anointing oil,  the bull of the sin  offering, the two rams, and the basket  of unleavened bread,


Next the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls. Sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to the Lord, to make atonement for the Levites.


For what the law could not do  since it was weakened by the flesh,  God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh  as a sin offering,  ,


He made the one who did not know sin  to be sin  for us,  so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.


For Christ also suffered  for sins once for all,  the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God.  He was put to death in the flesh  , but made alive by the Spirit,
