Pharaoh will say of the Israelites: They are wandering around the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.


The enemy said: ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil. My desire will be gratified at their expense. I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy   them.’


Because the sentence against an evil act is not carried out quickly,  the heart of people is filled with the desire to commit evil.


For certainly no one knows his time:  like fish caught in a cruel net or like birds caught in a trap,  so people are trapped in an evil time  as it suddenly falls on them.


Then I and all the people who are with me will approach the city. When they come out against us as they did the first time, we will flee from them.


you are to come out of your ambush and seize the city. The Lord your God will hand it over to you.


The Benjaminites said, ‘We are defeating them as before.’ But the Israelites said, ‘Let’s flee and draw them away from the city to the roads.’
