in order to confirm these days of Purim at their proper time just as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had established them and just as they had committed themselves and their descendants to the practices of fasting  and lamentation.


Moses told Aaron everything the Lord had sent him to say, and about all the signs he had commanded him to do.


‘Now, get ready. Stand up and tell them everything that I command you. Do not be intimidated by them  or I will cause you to cower before them.


Then the Lord said to me: Do not say, ‘I am only a youth,’ for you will go to everyone I send you to and speak whatever I tell you.


Speak my words to them whether they listen or refuse to listen,  for they are rebellious.


‘Son of man, I have made you a watchman over the house of Israel.  When you hear a word from my mouth, give them a warning from me.


‘Get up!  Go to the great city  of Nineveh  and preach against it  because their evil  has come up before me.’


The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time:


Jonah got up and went to Nineveh according to the Lord’s command. Now Nineveh was an extremely great city,  , a three-day walk.


Therefore produce fruit  consistent with  repentance.


After this, Jesus found him in the temple  and said to him, ‘See, you are well. Do not sin any more, so that something worse doesn’t happen to you.’
