By the Sheep Gate  in Jerusalem there is a pool, called Bethesda  in Aramaic, which has five colonnades.


Within these lay a large number of the disabled #– #blind, lame, and paralysed.


When Jesus saw him lying there and realised he had already been there a long time,  he said to him, ‘Do you want to get well? ’


For while we were still helpless, at the right time,  Christ died for the ungodly.


Don’t you know that the runners in a stadium all race,  but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to win the prize.


The Lord will indeed vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees that their strength is gone and no one is left #– #slave or free.
