Blessed will be those servants the master finds alert   when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will get ready,   have them recline at the table, then come and serve them.


‘Lord,’ Simon Peter said to him, ‘where are you going? ’ Jesus answered, ‘Where I am going   you cannot follow me now, but you will follow later.’


He asked him the third time, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love   me? ’ Peter was grieved  that he asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me? ’ He said, ‘Lord, you know everything;  you know that I love you.’ ‘Feed   my sheep,’ Jesus said.


He said this to indicate by what kind of death  Peter would glorify God.  After saying this, he told him, ‘Follow me.’


He came to us, took Paul’s belt, tied his own feet and hands, and said, ‘This is what the Holy Spirit says: “In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him over to the Gentiles.” ’


Indeed, we groan while we are in this tent, burdened as we are, because we do not want to be unclothed but clothed, so that mortality  may be swallowed up by life.
