The king replied, ‘Sons of Zeruiah, do we agree on anything?  He curses  me this way because the Lord   told him, “Curse David! ”  Therefore, who can say, “Why did you do that? ” ’


You have followed the path of your sister, so I will put her cup in your hand.’


Jesus answered, ‘You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? ’   , ‘We are able,’ they said to him.


Going a little further,  he fell face down and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.’


Again, a second time, he went away and prayed, ‘My Father, if this   cannot pass   unless I drink it, your will be done.’


For the Gentile world eagerly seeks   all these things, and your Father   knows that you need them.


‘Father, if you are willing, take this cup   away from me #– #nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.’


If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.


‘Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am,   so that they will see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the world’s foundation.


‘My kingdom   is not of this world,’ said Jesus. ‘If my kingdom were of this world,   my servants   would fight, so that I wouldn’t be handed over to the Jews. But as it is,   my kingdom is not from here.’


‘Don’t cling to me,’ Jesus told her, ‘since I have not yet ascended   to the Father.   But go to my brothers   and tell them that I am ascending to my Father   and your Father, to my God   and your God.’


since the weapons of our warfare  are not of the flesh, but are powerful  through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments


by the word of truth,  , by the power of God;  through weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,


keeping our eyes on Jesus,  the pioneer and perfecter  of our faith. For the joy that lay before him,  he endured the cross, despising the shame,  and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
