Their father Jacob said to them, ‘It’s me that you make childless. Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything happens to me! ’


Please remember what you commanded your servant Moses: ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples.


Are my days not few? Stop it! Leave me alone, so that I can smile a little


Please remember that you formed me like clay. Will you now return me to dust?


I give up! I will not live for ever. Leave me alone,  for my days are a breath.


My days fly by faster than a runner;  , they flee without seeing any good.


You know,  Lord; remember me and take note of me. Avenge me against my persecutors. In your patience,  don’t take me away. Know that I suffer disgrace for your honour.


Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring #– #what your life will be! For you are like vapour that appears for a little while, then vanishes.
