But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, ‘Abraham, Abraham! ’ He replied, ‘Here I am.’
When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could not see, he called his elder son Esau and said to him, ‘My son.’ And he answered, ‘Here I am.’
When he came to his father, he said, ‘My father.’ And he answered, ‘Here I am. Who are you, my son? ’
After Jacob came from Paddan-aram, he arrived safely at Shechem in the land of Canaan and camped in front of the city.
‘Look, I’m sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
‘Then the owner of the vineyard said, “What should I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will respect him.”

Once again, for the third time, the Lord called Samuel. He got up, went to Eli, and said, ‘Here I am; you called me.’ Then Eli understood that the Lord was calling the boy.
