Laban said to him, ‘Just because you’re my relative, should you work for me for nothing? Tell me what your wages should be.’


Leah had tender eyes, but Rachel was shapely and beautiful.


Then Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a sixth son.


Jacob had Rachel and Leah called to the field where his flocks were.


He put the slaves and their children first, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph last.


Leah’s sons were Reuben (Jacob’s firstborn), Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.


These were Leah’s sons born to Jacob in Paddan-aram, as well as his daughter Dinah. The total number of persons:   thirty-three.


Abraham and his wife Sarah are buried there,  Isaac and his wife Rebekah are buried there,  and I buried Leah there.


All the people who were at the city gate, including the elders, said, ‘We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is entering your house like Rachel and Leah,  who together built the house of Israel. May you be powerful in Ephrathah and your name well known in Bethlehem.
