The king also said, ‘You yourself know all the evil that you did to my father David.  Therefore, the Lord has brought back your evil on your head,


Don’t pay attention  to everything people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you,


I have tested all this by wisdom. I resolved, ‘I will be wise,’ but it was beyond me.


For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies,   slander.


With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in God’s likeness.
