Amazement came over them all, and they were saying to one another, ‘What is this message? For he commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out! ’
And they were all astonished at the greatness of God. While everyone was amazed at all the things he was doing, he told his disciples,
For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing, and he will show him greater works than these so that you will be amazed.
‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned,’ Jesus answered. ‘This came about so that God’s works might be displayed in him.

A man who was lame from birth was being carried there. He was placed each day at the temple gate called Beautiful, so that he could beg from those entering the temple.
