They came to Jesus and saw the man who had been demon-possessed,  , sitting there, dressed and in his right mind;  and they were afraid.


For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was guarded, bound by chains and shackles, he would snap the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.


Then people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man the demons had departed from, sitting at Jesus’s feet,  dressed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.


The evil spirit answered them, ‘I know Jesus, and I recognise Paul #– #but who are you? ’


When this became known to everyone who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks, they became afraid, and the name of the Lord Jesus  was held in high esteem.


So he jumped up and started to walk, and he entered the temple with them #– #walking, leaping, and praising God.


They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them.
