I gave your master’s house to you and your master’s wives into your arms,  and I gave you the house of Israel and Judah, and if that was not enough, I would have given you even more.


The length of time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.


Then the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah.  They told David, ‘It was the men of Jabesh-gilead who buried Saul.’


The length of time David reigned over Israel was forty years: he reigned for seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.


So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron. David made a covenant with them at Hebron in the Lord’s presence, and they anointed David king over Israel, in keeping with the Lord’s word through Samuel.


The length of his reign over Israel was forty years; he reigned in Hebron for seven years and in Jerusalem for thirty-three.


Six sons were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned for seven years and six months, and he reigned in Jerusalem for thirty-three years.
