But the Lord took me from following the flock and said to me, “Go, prophesy to my people Israel.” ’
Then the Jews were amazed and said, ‘How is this man so learned, since he hasn’t been trained? ’
and they recognised that he was the one who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. So they were filled with awe and astonishment at what had happened to him.
When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realised that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognised that they had been with Jesus.
All who heard him were astounded and said, ‘Isn’t this the man in Jerusalem who was causing havoc for those who called on this name and came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests? ’
Saul then removed his clothes and also prophesied before Samuel; he collapsed and lay naked all that day and all that night. That is why they say, ‘Is Saul also among the prophets? ’
