So Ahab went to his palace resentful and angry because of what Naboth the Jezreelite had told him. He had said, ‘I will not give you my ancestors’ inheritance.’ He lay down on his bed, turned his face away, and didn’t eat any food.
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, ‘There is still one man who can enquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies good about me, but only disaster. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.’ ‘The king shouldn’t say that! ’ Jehoshaphat replied.
Still, none of this satisfies me since I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the King’s Gate all the time.’
