Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree evil and its fruit evil. For certainly a tree is known by its fruit.

Now someone may say: "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without works! But I will show you my faith by means of works.


My brothers, can the fig tree yield grapes? Or the vine, figs? Then neither is salt water able to produce fresh water.


May the Lord judge between me and you. And may the Lord vindicate me from you. But my hand will not be against you.
