Since the bridegroom was delayed, they all fell asleep, and they were sleeping.


Peter said to him, "Even if it is necessary for me to die with you, I will not deny you." And all the disciples spoke similarly.


Then he said to them: "My soul is sorrowful, even unto death. Stay here and keep vigil with me."


Be vigilant and pray, so that you may not enter into temptation. Indeed, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."


And again, he went and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.


And he went and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter: "Simon, are you sleeping? Were you not able to be vigilant for one hour?


And when he had risen up from prayer and had gone to his disciples, he found them sleeping out of sorrow.


Yet truly, Peter and those who were with him were weighed down by sleep. And becoming alert, they saw his majesty and the two men who were standing with him.


And at first light in the morning, as the sun is rising, rush upon the city. And when he goes out against you, with his people, do to him what you are able to do."
