They have humiliated your people, O Lord, and they have harassed your inheritance.


I will lead them to my holy mountain, and I will gladden them in my house of prayer. Their holocausts and their victims will be pleasing to me upon my altar. For my house will be called the house of prayer for all peoples.


So then, has this house, where my name has been invoked, become a den of robbers in your eyes? It is I, I am, I have seen, says the Lord.


And they said to him: "In Bethlehem of Judea. For so it has been written by the prophet:


And he taught them, saying: "Is it not written: 'For my house shall be called the house of prayer for all nations?' But you have made it into a den of robbers."


And entering into the temple, he began to cast out those who sold in it, and those who bought,


saying to them: "It is written: 'My house is a house of prayer.' But you have made it into a den of robbers."


But this is so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law: 'For they hated me without cause.'
