Then, as the crowds were quickly gathering, he began to say: "This generation is a wicked generation: it seeks a sign. But no sign will be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.


Then the Jews responded and said to him, "What sign can you show to us, that you may do these things?"


Therefore, Jesus said to him, "Unless you have seen signs and wonders, you do not believe."


And so they said to him: "Then what sign will you do, so that we may see it and believe in you? What will you work?


For the Jews ask for signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom.
