I was also perfect toward him; And I kept myself from mine iniquity.


Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent, unto the prayer that is made in this place.


let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee at this time, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants while I confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee. Yea, I and my father's house have sinned:


Although there is no violence in my hands,\par\tab And my prayer is pure.\par


Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress:\par\tab Incline thine ear unto me;\par\tab In the day when I call answer me speedily.


I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted,\par\tab And justice for the needy.

Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation:\par\tab Oh deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

Jehovah ministereth judgment to the peoples:\par\tab Judge me, O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and to mine integrity that is in me.


Behold, O God our shield,\par\tab And look upon the face of thine anointed.

Give ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer;\par\tab And hearken unto the voice of my supplications.


For my soul is full of troubles,\par\tab And my life draweth nigh unto Sheol.


And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh {\i unto me}, and with their mouth and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught {\i them};


And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not returned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith Jehovah.\par
